ACDL 2026
The lectures will be delivered by world renowned experts in the field, from both academia and industry, and will cover both theoretical and practical aspects of AI, Machine/Deep Learning, Generative AI, and Data Science.
ECTS Credits Recognition
The Course will involve a total of 36-40 hours of lectures, according to the academic system the final achievement will be equivalent to 8 ECTS Credits for the PhD Students (and strongly motivated Master Students) attending the course; during (or after) the course the PhD students will tackle home-works/projects. At the end of the advanced course each attendant will receive the Formal Certificate of Attendance in which it will be written that the advanced course is worth exactly 8 ECTS.
We know that the recognition of ECTS credits (8 ECTS in the case of ACDL) varies from country to country. Furthermore, in all these years of activity, we have found that the recognition of the ECTS credits also varies from University to University and in some cases, even from Department to Department (sometimes within the same University there are Faculties/Departments that have particular requests and different constraints to formally accept ECTS credits).
Having made this necessary premise, to allow all ACDL students to be able to recognize ECTS credits, we have adopted a flexible policy for assigning the aforementioned credits.
All participants before, during and after the course will receive teaching material (e.g., articles, presentations, URLs, source code, technical reports, demos, etc.) which they must view/read/study as an integral part of the course’s teaching activity. 1) The hours for the study of all the teaching material provided together with 2) the attendance of the course lessons allow the students to reach the hours necessary to obtain the 8 ECTS credits.
(I) For students who simply need to attend the course to have ECTS credits recognised, the organizing committee verifies that the student has been present at all the teaching activities of the course, if the student has been present at more than 85% of the teaching activities then the student will receive the Formal Certificate of Attendance in which it will be written that this course is worth exactly 8 ECTS.
(II) In case that participation alone is not sufficient for the recognition of ECTS credits by the University/Faculty/Department, the following procedure will be adopted. For ECTS credit recognition, the student must be present at more than 85% of the teaching activities and at the end of the course (typically two weeks after the end of ACDL) the student must take an online exam or complete a project in 4-6 weeks. Once the exam has been passed or a positive evaluation of the project has been obtained, the student will receive the Formal Certificate of Attendance in which it will be written that this course is worth exactly 8 ECTS.
(III) In case that the two previous points do not satisfy the requests of the University/Faculty/Department the organizing committee and the Directors of the course will try to satisfy, if possible, the requests of the academic bodies to verify the feasibility of the required procedure.
